I have a fondness for the 850 spider, the one with the Miura front lights. My friend restored one in Glasgow and it was sold to someone living in London a couple of years ago. The prettiest car I've ever seen although I tend to say that about every little Fiat lol. I haven't seen one sisnce apart from a couple in America. I did find one for sale in Italy for £2,500 but it the wrong time for me :-( Does anyone know if there are any around in the U.K.? Would love to get some more photos of one. Ewen
Green one ehh, I wonder how long he owned it for. Franco my friend sold one which was green. An amazing car and it was perfect. You could have had your dinner on top of the engine it was that good.
Dave Pilcher is restoring an 850 coupe - but of course that doesn't have the headlights - or the Bertone connection come to that. He's gone very quiet too. You met Dave at the Edinburgh Show last September.
Brian is a dedicated 850 nutter. Has yard loads of them and is retired in Cornwall. Member of the Minehead Car Club and organiser of many field/ car park ripping autotests/ trials. He sent me a picture of him rallying an 850 saloon (special stage) and I'd swear the water filled pot holes looked deeper than the height of the car!
That is stonkingly pretty - "buone condizioni" and only 53k Km on the clock! I wouldn't refuse the mark 2 spider with the standard headlights either come to that.
You've got me looking them up in the Fiat 'bible' now. That's another fine model page we've gotta have! I've found another shot of Brian from the back page of Bialbero in an 850 Special "cleaning" a hill crest on a trial hill. When I have a working scanner I'll post it/ send it. By the way Bialbero is the Club magazine - it means 'twin shafted' in Italian (bee-al-bear-o) so named in deference to our Fiat Twin Cam Register past - it was always the name of the mag, and that's a very good reason to keep it so.
